  • Lavenham townscapes and architecture: Little Hall, now a museum, was a house built in the 14th century, enlarged in the 16th century, and eventually housed several families.  Restored in the 1920s by the Gayer-Anderson twin brothers, in 1975 it was given to the Suffolk Preservation Trust.  See history and program at http://www.littlehall.org.uk/littlehall/index.htm.  It is the oldest house in Lavenham.

Citizens saved many of the original roof tiles, however, and these are used when visible wherever possible, while the new tiles have been set underneath them.
