Subsequently redeveloped in the time of Maria Theresa in the 18th century; in the 19th and early 20th century, squatters' housing; now occupied by expensive souvenir shops and restaurants.

  • Fairly elaborate wooden spirit house on its pole just outside a guest house in the capital city of Laos.  The spirit house has multiple flying roofs and a front veranda filled with food offerings.  The whole is festooned with fairy light, unlit in the late afternoon sun but lit at dark.
