He may be hiding from the camera, or he may be just resting or napping.   Door is heavily ornamented with repousse Islamic patterns.  Sunlight floods into the doorway.

  • Worshippers at prayer in front of the qibla of the mostque of Sultan al Muayyad, near Bab Zuweila, Cairo, Egypt.  The Imam leading the prayers stands, while seven men kneel and bow behind him.  Some, including the Imam, wear galabeyyas, while others wear trousers. They are seen from behind.  The Qibla is ornamented with a design of colored tiles.  Straw matting on the floor.

  • Facade of the university College of Ildefonso at Alcala de Henares.  Flourish of red roses in the foreground, and a clutch of tourists lined up admiring the building's Plateresque ornamental flourishes around its doors and windows.  The building dates from the turn of the 15th-16th century.  The university, founded by Ximenez de Cisneros, opened in 1508 as the College of St. Ildefonso.  The facade was designed by Rodrigo Gil de Hontanon in the style known as plateresque.
