Angkor Temples : Bakong Mount Meru at Roluos

Bakong, near the town of Roluos, is the oldest temple in the Angkor Archaeological Park (9th century). View of the central pyramid of five levels, of brick and sandstone, reconstructed during the 1930s from original building parts. The pyramid symbolizes Mount Meru of Hindu cosmology.
