"Safeh" plaque in Toledo

Many ceramic and bronze plaques are set in the cobbles of Jewish districts of Toledo and other towns. The Hebrew lettering spells 'safeh" meaning "destroyed, perished, etc." and no doubt refers to the expulsion of the Jews in the 15th century, though the plaques are modern.
